Collection

Since 1984, the FRAC Champagne-Ardenne Collection has developed a strong identity around major complementary themes: art and life, art and encounters, art and celebration, art and play. The collection is open and forward-looking, comprising over eight hundred works which reflect the great diversity of contemporary practices. Furthermore, over the years this collection has acquired a patrimonial value. As with museums and other public collections, the works are subject to the public domain regime, making them imprescriptible, inalienable, and non-seizable.

Since 2018, the FRAC has acquired an equal amount of works by male and female artists.

The collection includes les œuvres de Franz Ackermann, Adel Abdessemed, Robert Adams, Saâdane Afif, Francesco Arena, Charles Atlas, Sylvie Auvray, Lothar Baumgarten, John Bock, Céleste Boursier-Mougenot, Antoine Catala, Martin Boyce, Chris Burden, Tom Burr, Stéphane Calais, Mircea Cantor, Claude Closky, Guy de Cointet, Ann Craven, Jeremiah Day, Matthew Day Jackson, Erik Dietman, Julien Discrit, Willie Doherty, Jimmie Durham, Eric Duyckaerts, Latifa Echakhch, Kirsten Everberg, Ruth Ewan, Robert Filliou, Ceal Floyer, Michel François, Linda Fregni Nagler, Aurélien Froment, Cyprien Gaillard, General Idea, Jef Geys, Dan Graham, Rodney Graham, Raymond Hains, Richard Hamilton & Dieter Roth, Sharon Hayes, Lothar Hempel, Pierre Huyghe, Alain Jacquet, Pierre Joseph, Michel Journiac, Jesper Just, Barbara Kasten, Jean Le Gac, Glenn Ligon, Robert Malaval, Christian Marclay, Nicola Martini, Nick Mauss, Philippe Mayaux, Mathieu Mercier, Gustav Metzger, Aernout Mik, Yan Pei-Ming, Laurent Montaron, Jean-Luc Moulène, Matt Mullican, Carsten Nicolai, Ken Okiishi, Rainer Oldendorf, Silke Otto-Knapp, Christodoulos Panayiotou, Gina Pane, João Penalva, Emilie Pitoiset, Philippe Ramette, Lili Reynaud Dewar, Clément Rodzielski, Robin Rhode, Klaus Rinke, Joe Scanlan, Valérie Snobeck, Frances Stark, Catherine Sullivan, Joëlle Tuerlinckx, Patrick Van Caeckenberg, Ger Van Elk, Charline von Heyl, Tris Vonna Michell, Julia Wachtel, Jeff Wall, Emily Wardill, James Welling, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Franz West…
